Corona - Paraíso Secreto
Working as a 3D Artist for Wieden+Kennedy's Dept. of New Realities, I developed the first mixed-reality prototype for Corona's Paraíso Secreto, an immersive installation in Mexico City.
The experience was designed to transport visitors from the city into a tropical paradise by combining VR, physical sets, environmental effects and interactive storytelling. My small R&D team created the early prototype that helped secure the project, while The Mill London later led the full production and delivery.
Using Unreal Engine, Megascans, photogrammetry and custom 3D assets, we tested how real objects could be accurately matched and tracked inside a virtual environment. One prototype aligned a physical wooden bridge with its digital counterpart, allowing visitors to feel the structure beneath their feet while seeing a continuous virtual world. Another used an interactive wooden staff whose movement controlled a matching object in VR.
I focused on Unreal Engine prototyping, VR environment creation, photogrammetry, prop scanning, real-time tracking and the alignment of physical and virtual assets. I worked closely with designers and developers to establish the mixed-reality workflow that was later expanded during full production.
